Kensington Palace & Diana: Her Fashion Story

Diana: Her Fashion Story, is the sell-out exhibition at Kensington Palace featuring some of Diana, Princess of Wales’ most famous outfits and is the definitive dress exhibition.  Trace the evolution of the Princess’s style, from the demure, romantic outfits of her first public appearances, to the glamour, elegance and confidence of her later life.  Don’t miss an extraordinary collection of garments, including Victor Edelstein’s iconic ink blue velvet gown, famously worn at the White House when the Princess danced with John Travolta.  In addition, a recently discovered blue tartan Emanuel suit will go on display to the public for the first time.  This suit was worn by Diana on an official visit to Venice in the 1980’s.  Entry includes a chance to explore the marvel and history of this wonderful building.  The Palace was once a small and suburban villa, known at Nottingham House way back in 1689 when the new monarchs chose this modest mansion to be their country retreat.  Over the centuries many monarchs and members of the Royal Family have resided in the Palace including Queen Victoria. Princess Margaret and of course Diana, Princess of Wales.  The Palace remains home to members of the Royal Family, including The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.  The Palace is also home to the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collections with items shown in rotating displays.  In 2012, major refurbishments were completed with a grand new entrance and new gardens that echo 18th century designs.  Kensington Palace has now been restored to the prominence of its heyday.  Entrance to the Exhibition, Palace and Gardens included.
