The Queen at Chester Hotel
The Queen at Chester Hotel has an illustrious past. This magnificent brick and stucco Italianate building was said to be the first skyscraper of its time, and you’ll be following in the footsteps of some rather famous guests with a stay here. Since opening in 1860, it’s hosted none other than Charles Dickens, Cecil Rhodes and Lillie Langtry, to name but a few. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the centre of Chester. Each floor is dedicated to a country, with every suite named after a king of that nation. All of the 221 bedrooms have superfast fibre optic Wi-Fi, satellite TV and 24-hour room service. When you’re not relaxing in your room, enjoy a drink in one of the exquisite Victorian lounges.
