Cultural capital, birthplace of The Beatles and UNESCO world Heritage Site, Liverpool has world-class attractions, a proud sporting history and beautiful coast and countryside- making it the perfect location for a UK city break.  Liverpool is officially the World Capital of Pop, with more number 1 hits than any other city.  You can hear live music anywhere from a top arena to an intimate bar-room venue.  With more that its share of fabulous theatres showcasing every style of performance, cinemas and comedy nights, night-time Liverpool has many attractions of interest to visit including the Albert Dock, the world famous Cavern, the Liverpool quarters and Chinatown to name a few.

The Atlantic Tower Hotel

The magnificent Atlantic Tower Hotel offers modern accommodation whilst overlooking Liverpool’s famed UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront Site.  Ideally located just a short walk away from some of Liverpool’s most popular attractions – the Liver Building, the new Liverpool One shopping district, Albert Dock and Liverpool Echo Arena, this newly refurbished hotel makes a perfect base from which to explore and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the city.  The stunning en-suite rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished in rich tones that enhance the calming warm ambience of the hotel.  All come with a flat screen LCD TV, coffee/tea making facilities, work desk and Wi-Fi internet access.

 

Day 1 – Departing Hall Place, we head north on the motorway system, with a number of comfort stops en-route, to the acclaimed city of Liverpool and the Atlantic Tower Hotel, arriving mid afternoon.
Day 2 – After breakfast, we board the coach and take a two hour tour of this wonderful city with a local guide aboard, pointing out many sights and stories including many areas given World Heritage Site status by UNESCO.  In the afternoon we head to Liverpool Pier Head for a 50 minute round trip of the River Mersey.
Day 3 – After breakfast, we head to Cheshire to visit “Cathedral of the Canals” for an uplifting experience on the Anderton Boat Lift, which raises boats 50 feet upwards from the River Weaver to the Trent and Mersey Canal.  We then visit the amazing Port Sunlight village, where we are joined by a guide of showcase the unique village created by 1888 by William Hesketh Lever for his factory workers.
Day 4 – A free day to explore some of the many attractions in this excellent city.
Day 5 – After breakfast, it’s time to head south and return home with comfort stops en-route.

St Annes

St Annes is a traditional seaside resort to the north of Lytham which boasts Victorian Porritt buildings, a pier, bandstand, promenade gardens and of course donkey rides.  St Annes offers a much more peaceful atmosphere than neighbouring Blackpool.  Still attracting visitors today it offers plenty of choices by the sea to keep you active.  While St Annes is a haven of peace and tranquillity which continually maintains its modern approach whilst retaining its familiar charm and holds the essential ingredients for a special holiday or breath of fresh air whatever the weather.

The Ashton Park Hotel

Formerly Known as The Langdales Hotel, the hotel is set in the heart of St Annes on sea and is owned and run by the Young Family.  It offers all guests a first class service with a smile, offering quality and comfort, but still retaining that personal touch and friendly atmosphere.  All bedrooms are en-suite, and offer TV, Hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities and use of the leisure facilities including and indoor heated swimming pool and symnasium.  A lift serves all floors.

Morecambe

Morecambe has grown into one of the most beautiful and popular holiday resorts in north west England.  With all the charm of a traditional seaside town, the flat Promenade spans about 4 miles offering calming scenic views across the bay to the Lake District.  Stretching from the south west coast of Cumbria to Fleetwood in Lancashire, the Bay takes in coastal towns such as Grange over Sands, Morecambe and Heysham.  The headlands of Morecambe Bay offer spectacular sunsets and seascape views; the hardy and adventurous can experience a guided walk across the sands (not included), taking in the wide-open vistas across the tidal sand and mud flats towards the Lake District and the Bowland Fells.  The Bay also offers opportunities for a range of amazing wildlife experiences, like watching the oyster catchers and other waders march up the shore at Hest Bank, Bolton-le-Sands, in front of the advancing tides, or even looking for seals lazing around the tip of Walney.  With some of the most beautiful coastline in Britain and golden sandy beaches, there is plenty to discover making Morecambe Bay the perfect place to relax, explore and enjoy.

 

The Auckland Hotel

 

The family run Auckland Hotel overlooks Morecambe beach and the Irish Sea.  The hotel is situated a short walk from Morecambe leisure park, town centre and railway station.  All rooms have private facilities, toiletries, television and tea/coffee making facilities, a lift serves most floors.  There is a lounge, bar and front patio, a friendly hotel in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area.

7 days – Day in the Dales travelling via Ingleton and through the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  The journey continues to Hawes before returning via Sedbergh and Kirby Lonsdale – City of Lancaster & Lune Aqueduct Cruise with an afternoon visit to Carnforth Station Heritage Centre & Tea Rooms – The Lake District, firstly visiting Bowness on Windermere, an attractive location and popular venue for relaxing.  Continue via Windermere and Ambleside to Grasmere for sightseeing.
