Holiday Itinerary
| Day 1 | We travel north to our overnight hotel in Cumbria. |
| Day 2 | Our holiday truly begins as we cross into Scotland with a brief visit to the famous Gretna Green outlet village before arriving in Stirling, with its famous castle and rich history. We then take a scenic drive to our hotel on the banks of Loch Tay. |
| Day 3 | We head to the famous fishing town of Oban with free time to explore, before a stunning scenic drive south via Lochgilphead and the western shores of Loch Fyne to Inveraray. We then skirt the northern end of the beautiful Loch Lomond on the return to our hotel. |
| Day 4 | Today we travel alongside the magnificent Loch Tay, pausing first for a visit to the Scottish Crannog Centre, where we travel back in time to the Iron Age where some people lived in loch dwellings called Crannogs. A replica based on excavations is the showpiece of this fascinating museum along with an Iron Age Village for us to explore. We then head to Aberfeldy with free time to explore the cafés and bistros over lunchtime. In the afternoon we travel to Crieff where we visit the Glenturret Distillery for a tour and tasting. Finally, we take a very scenic drive via Loch Earn. |
| Day 5 | Today we take the incredibly scenic drive to Fort William. This route offers perfect opportunities for photo stops along the way, and we take a pause at the Glencoe Visitor Centre to learn more about the area. On arrival in Fort William, we can explore the town at leisure over lunchtime. Afterwards we join a cruise on Loch Linnhe to see the Black Rock, affectionately known as ‘Seal Island’. This rocky outcrop is our destination to spot both the Common and Atlantic Grey seals which make it their home. Have your cameras at the ready! |
| Day 6 | Today we start our journey back to Lancashire with a visit to the pretty borders town of Moffat. From here we head south, with comfort stops en-route, arriving at the Delta by Marriott Hotel, Preston, late afternoon. |
| Day 7 | The saying goes “All good things come to an end” and unfortunately it’s true in this case, as we head back home. |
