HIGH BEECHES WATER & WOODLAND GARDENS AND SUSSEX BUTTERFLY GARDENS

Our first port of call is the Sussex Tropical Butterfly Gardens, where you get the chance to stretch your legs within a tropical flight area. An environment which is carefully controlled and monitored to ensure perfect conditions for the live butterflies. The high temperature and humidity is created not only for the hundreds of tropical butterflies, but to also sustain the tropical plants and flowers needed to enable the butterflies to feed, breed and lay their eggs, allowing visitors an insight into the fascinating way of life of these amazing insects. Following our visit, we continue our journey to the wonderful High Beeches Water & Woodland Gardens. With 27 acres of woodland, water gardens, and a collection of rare, exotic and award-winning plants, High Beeches Garden is one of Sussex’s finest gardens and is home to a plant collection that includes specimens from many parts of the world. It’s a hidden gem in the High Weald of West Sussex. A botanical treasure trove and classic English idyll make it one of the most wonderful woodland gardens in the South East. Please note that this trip is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues as the woodland garden and paths are grass and uneven in places. The terrain is also quite undulating. However there are plenty of benches for visitors to take their time.
