Day excursions

We make the short journey to the Isle of Sheppey where an excellent guide joins us for a tour of the island. After the tour, we travel to the Criterion Theatre for a feel good show to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. A great show capturing the best of Irish music and comedy in the company of Christopher Gee and Keith Slater. A lunch of sausage & chips is also included.

A trip to the delightful town of Newmarket, world famous of course for its equestrian connections and racecourse. Following time here, we travel on to Chippenham Park Gardens. This estate created at the very end of the 17th century, boast gardens which have been awarded the highest two-star rating by the Good Gardens Guide and are notable for their vast swathes of snowdrops and aconites in late winter. A fantastic day out for all.

Firstly to the genteel resort of Frinton for a couple of hours and then rounding off the day in Clacton.

Travel down to West Sussex for not one but two elegant and traditional seaside resorts. Firstly to Bognor Regis a quintessential English seaside resort. Then onto Littlehampton, with two award-winning beaches, the beautiful River Arun and a large seafront green making it a popular destination for all.

A seafront amusement park, sand and shingle beaches, busy city centre and fish ‘n’ chip shops leading down to the country’s longest pier; Essex’s Southend on-Sea has all the trappings of a classic British seaside resort.
