The Diplomat Hotel + Spa

Just a mile from Llanelli’s centre, the luxury Diplomat Hotel Restaurant & Spa is the ideal place to stay for exploring this beautiful area. The hotel, built in 1810, combines Georgian architecture with a wonderful modern interior, and today its 50 bedrooms boast stylish décor and modern features including TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and private en-suite bathrooms. The hotel also has free Wi-Fi, a modern leisure centre, luxurious New Eden Spa, with facilities including a sauna, steam room, hot tub, gym and indoor pool. Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 We travel to South Wales with comfort stops en-route.
Day 2 A jaw dropping day today as we firstly visit the Gower Heritage Centre where you can see the 12th century Flower Mill and experience local craft displays and learn about the history of the Gower. We then embark on a two hour guided tour of this outstandingly beautiful Peninsula before a visit to the Mumbles.
Day 3 Today we spend a day at the seaside as we cross into Pembrokeshire and visit the historic resort of Tenby, established by the Normans, most of the fortified walls remain today and enclose a myriad of small narrow streets. The resort is famous for its two beautiful beaches and its picture postcard harbour.
Day 4 No trip to Wales is complete without a ride on a train, so today we visit the oldest town in Wales, Carmarthen, with its medieval lanes and Georgian architecture, today also being market day. After time here, we then take the short trip to Abergwili to board a Gwili Railway steam train for a 90 minute round trip on one of the UK’s most picturesque preserved lines, following the river Gwili through glorious farmland and woodland.
Day 5 Sadly, we have to leave this truly beautiful place and head home with comfort stops en-route.

Price is per person on half board basis unless stated. Weekend breaks include Sunday lunch.
