This show is immense, in a way similar to the Thursford Spectacular, where if people ask “what is it like,” there is no answer, because both are like nothing else, they are unique! Kynren, “an epic tale of England” is a live outdoor show, which takes place in Bishop Auckland. The 90 minute performance depicts vital moments in British history and myth spanning 2000 years.

This most beautiful of towns lies in the Wharfedale Valley, beneath the imposing Ilkley Moor, looked over by the famous Cow and Calf rocks. The town gained its considerable wealth in Victorian times, when visitors flocked to the town to bathe in its pure spa waters. Ilkley has a recently refurbished Lido, one of the very few left in the UK. The town now has a distinct Victorian architecture feel, with wide avenues and some lovely buildings.
