Somerset – Bridgwater

Bridgwater is a delightful, historic market town, located on the river Parrett in Somerset. Formerly a port until the river silted up, Bridgwater still retains its original quays. The town is linked with Taunton via the Bridgwater and Taunton canal, originally built for trade purposes, now long gone, the canal is great for pleasant walks and pleasure craft. There are many historic buildings and museums, including one dedicated to Admiral Robert Blake, Bridgwater's most famous son.
