A seafront amusement park, sand and shingle beaches, busy city centre and fish ‘n’ chip shops leading down to the country’s longest pier; Essex’s Southend-on-Sea has all the trappings of a classic British seaside resort.

Living Crafts is the perfect destination for a day trip. This quintessentially British festival offers you an immersive craft experience discovering contemporary and heritage arts crafts.

We take a scenic journey of Essex passing through many villages including Lavenham, Britain’s best preserved medieval village. The climax of this trip is at the fantastic Fox Inn at Finchingfield, where a lovely two course Sunday lunch awaits.

An intriguing excursion as we firstly visit Kennedys fish & chip restaurant in Clerkenwell for some of the finest fish & chips in London. We then make the short journey to the fascinating Highgate Cemetery which is also a de facto Nature Reserve. The cemetery is split into two, East & West and contains 170,000 people buried in 53,000 graves. Please note, walking on uneven surfaces will be unavoidable on this excursion.

One of our most popular days out to the coast, Eastbourne has plenty to see and do whatever the weather, with a lovely promenade, fine shopping and lots of cafes and bars.
