Day excursions

For our annual pilgrimage to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular this year we are staying overnight at the lovely Best Western Knights Hill Hotel & Spa situated near to Kings Lynn. The show itself is fantastic with stunning costumes, lighting, decorations and awesome songs.

The ambience of the venue, the show and all the cast exudes class with stunning costumes, lighting, decorations and awesome songs. We have a lovely two course Christmas lunch at Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, before arriving at Thursford for the afternoon show.

Our first stop will be in the beautiful town of Sandwich. Sandwich was one of the cinque ports and still has many original medieval buildings, including several listed public houses and gates in the old town walls, churches, almshouses and the white mill. After time here we will then make our way to the quaint, quirky and one of the most charming coastal towns in Kent, Deal.

A trip for Mothers Day and there’s simply no other place like it. Breath-taking beauty, cobbled streets and stunning shorelines make this corner of theKentish coast one of the best places to visit and explore.

We make the short journey to the Isle of Sheppey where an excellent guide joins us for a tour of the island. After the tour, we travel to the Criterion Theatre for a feel good show to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. A great show capturing the best of Irish music and comedy in the company of Christopher Gee and Keith Slater. A lunch of sausage & chips is also included.
