Day excursions

We travel to the beautiful city of Canterbury with its imposing cathedral and weekly market. After time here, we head to Reculver and a visit to The King Ethelbert Inn, situated right next to an imposing Roman Fort and the sea for a traditional three course pub lunch.

We head to Kempton Park Racecourse for one of the UK and Europe’s largest and best loved fairs, a clear favourite amongst antiques enthusiasts, with over 700 traders spread throughout two indoor and outside pitches. Some time after midday, we then depart and head straight home.

We begin our day in central London with a visit to the area of Knightsbridge and a chance to look around some of the leading international stores this area boasts, or perhaps treat yourself to a bit of lunch. Following time here we head to The King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace for a chance to discover the remarkable style of Britain’s longest reigning monarch through clothing worn in all ten decades of her life.

With a comfort stop en-route, we arrive in Aylesham where we take the narrow gauge steam train for the 9 mile journey through the Bure Valley to Wroxham. After arriving in Wroxham, we have time here to enjoy this beautiful village with the opportunity for a spot of lunch (not included). Then we travel onto Horning where we board the superb Mississippi river boat, The Southern Comfort, for a wonderful 1½ hour cruise on the Norfolk Broads.

The Heritage Transport Show is a celebration of classic and vintage cars, motorcycles, tractors, steam, stationary engines, commercial and military vehicles. Joined by the South East Bus Festival, the event also brings a huge number of buses and coaches from across the South East and beyond.
