Day Excursions

We begin with a visit to the delightful riverside town of St Ives. A historic, vibrant and bustling market town, on the banks of the Great Ouse River which boasts many beautiful buildings. After time here we make the short journey to The Wheatsheaf Restaurant in West Perry. Enjoy the delicious pub classics in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Step back in time as we embark on a very entertaining and retro day out aboard a vintage coach for a tour of some of the most picture postcard villages in Essex. We start our day at Thaxted, Queen of Essex, enjoying morning refreshments before boarding the coach where we are joined by a Blue Badge Guide for an informative and fun tour. A Ploughman’s lunch is included along with an afternoon cuppa and a slice of cake before this very special day out concludes.

A visit first to the lovely Covent Garden in central London with plenty of time to browse. Then it’s the short journey to the Apollo Theatre for the main event Fawlty Towers - The Play. Featuring your favourite scenes from the sitcom’s unforgettable twelve episodes, everyone’s favourite hot-headed hotelier is back!

A day out to the Cathedral City of Canterbury. Wednesday is Market Day, so why not see if you can pick up a bargain in the vibrant market. After time here, we travel onto the village of Molash where a 2 course lunch awaits at The George. A former coaching inn, in the picturesque North Downs, the family run restaurant prides itself on the quality of it’s home made food using excellent locally sourced produce wherever possible.

Hughenden in Buckinghamshire was the country home of Queen Victoria’s favourite Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli. Gain a vivid insight into the charismatic personality and colourful private life of this most unlikely Victorian Prime Minister. Following time here, we travel the short distance to the unique and nostalgic Air Raid Shelter Café, transporting you straight back to the 1940’s for an afternoon tea.
