BROADSTAIRS DICKENSIAN FESTIVAL
Charles Dickens visited Broadstairs regularly from 1837 until 1859 and immortalised the town as “Our English Watering Place”. In 1937, to commemorate the centenary of the author’s first visit, a production of David Copperfield, with people about the town in Victorian dress publicising the event, started this now annual event.
ROYAL ASCOT LADIES DAY
Royal Ascot is the World’s most prestigious flat racing event and we are delighted to offer you another chance to enjoy it. Experience over 300 years of history, pageantry and style on Ladies Day. From the Royal procession to the style of all those visiting, this really is the ultimate social occasion. The main race of the day is the Gold Cup which promises to be a fiercely contested crackerjack of a race. In 2026 we will once again do it in style, providing pre-race drinks and a picnic of sandwiches & nibbles. PLEASE NOTE THAT ROYAL ASCOT ENFORCES A STRICT DRESS CODE WITHIN THE QUEEN ANNE ENCLOSURE.
